Our Truth and Restoration Town Hall, “Authoritarian Cults, Media Indoctrination, and Shared Psychosis,” took place on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 3 p.m. EDT.

Speakers included:

• Steven Hassan, Ph.D. – leading expert on cults and mind control and the author of The Cult of Trump
  
• James Cohen, Ph.D. – faculty member in media studies at CUNY Queens College teaching social media and digital media literacies, with a focus on far right extremism
  
• Becca Lewis – Ph.D. candidate at Stanford University, former researcher at the Data and Society Research Institute, and co-author of Media Manipulation and Disinformation Online
• Jon Atack – former Scientology cult member and author of Opening Minds, Changing Our Minds, and Let’s Sell These People a Piece of Blue Sky
  
• David Weissman – former MAGA/Trump cult member who has been bravely speaking out
• Ruth Ben-Ghiat, Ph.D. – leading historian at New York University and author of Strongmen: Mussolini to the Present
• Bandy Lee, M.D., M.Div. – president of the World Mental Health Coalition and editor of The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump
